Dismantling and replacing the Minneapolis Police Department with a new revolutionary model of public security.
Municipal Council members in Minneapolis of America have announced plans to "dismantle" the city's police department, one of whose officers is accused of murdering George Floyd, an African American.
In a tweet on Twitter, Jeremy Ellison, a council member and son of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, wrote: "When we do that, we will not amend this district again. We will radically rethink our approach to public social security."
The council chair, Lisa Bandar, confirmed this information. And she said, "Yes, we are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a new revolutionary model of public security."
In turn, the local newspaper "Star Tribune" reported that the city council will vote Friday on the first reform package in the police department.
The killing of Floyd has sparked outrage across the country over the police treatment of African Americans, which has resulted in political and ethnic polarization as states begin to ease public isolation measures imposed to prevent the spread of the Corona pandemic.
